The CCS initiative at the Filborna plant, Innozhero, has become its own program within Öresundskraft. This means the initiative is now managed as a separate business area, responsible for technology, implementation, partnerships, long-term development, and business operations. The program is led by a Program Director, equivalent to a Business Area Manager within the organization. So who is that?

We are very pleased to welcome Fredrik Hedvall to Öresundskraft as Program Director for the Innozhero-project. Fredrik brings an extensive international background with over two decades of experience in leadership roles at Kenvue and Johnson & Johnson, where he has led large scale transformation and improvement programs across Europe and globally.

Throughout his career, Fredrik has worked with process development, strategic management, and global program governance. He has led complex projects combining innovation, structure, and strong teamwork. Fredrik has managed international production sites, developed global governance models, and successfully guided organizations through both growth and change.

At Öresundskraft, Fredrik will take overall responsibility for leading the CCS program Innozhero, one of Sweden’s most ambitious climate initiatives. With his experience in leadership, operations, and global collaboration, he will play a key role as we move from design to implementation of the CCS solution at the Filborna plant.

5 kind of quick questions for Fredrik:

What attracted you to Öresundskraft and the role as Program Director for Innozhero?

Working in a pioneering field that can make a real, positive impact on the environment was a huge motivation. In previous roles, I’ve worked on making production units climate-neutral, so I know how much effort goes into reducing emissions. It’s extremely difficult to reach zero without negative emissions. With the CCS initiative, I hope we can help more companies achieve climate neutrality and make a real contribution to our planet.

Another important reason I chose Öresundskraft was the positive experience I had meeting everyone during the recruitment process. Everyone here is passionate about what we do, we’re forward-looking, ambitious, and want to be at the forefront of development.

You’ve worked internationally for many years. What do you bring from that experience into the Innozhero project?

We operate locally but collaborate with international partners. I feel very comfortable in an international environment and in building strong working relationships regardless of nationality, that’s something I bring into the CCS work. I also bring experience from handling difficult situations, including crisis management. Hopefully, we’ll avoid crises, but in a complex project like CCS, it’s important to be ready to handle whatever comes our way.

How would you describe your leadership style, both at work and outside of it?

My ambition is to lead in an inclusive and motivating way, where teams and individuals have the space to grow. I encourage people around me to tell me what I need to hear, not just what I want to hear. And while we work in a business minded way, I also think it’s important that we have fun together along the way.

What do you enjoy doing when you’re not working? How do you relax?

I focus on family, our dog, friends and preferably a round of golf on the weekend. Right now, there’s also a lot of floorball with my son.

If you weren’t working with major climate projects, what do you think you would be doing instead?

I’ve spent many years helping people lead healthier lives, including helping them quit smoking. So even if I weren’t working with CCS, I’d probably still be doing something where I could make a difference for people. That’s what has always driven me.

We’re thrilled to have Fredrik on board and look forward to his contribution as Öresundskraft takes the next step on its journey toward a sustainable future.

Welcome, Fredrik!
